You need someone at home or somewhere to know when your expected time of 
return is, someone who is willing to use his/her brains to figure out when 
you've been gone too long.  Plus you need to have left some idea of where 
you were going to ride.  If you're like me, you won't want to submit a 
detailed itinerary, but do at least leave info on where your trailer will 
be parked and where you're likely to be riding.
