    how about training them to trot out in hand? for all the general idiocy of halter showing, (have been there so I can say that) what a distinct pleasure to have my horse trot out beautifully without cajoling of any kind, albeit lazily when it is our sleepy stallion (who stands in lin-eups drooling - we call him Homer!)
