[RC] Shamrock Ride - Kathy
The Shamrock Ride is a great ride and fun endurance adventure. Went there
last year for the first time and going back again this year. Guess it all
depends on your horse if it would be a good first ride. It would make a good
first ride for my arab who might have problems with all the ups and downs in
our Ozark hills but would not have made a good first ride for my "out of
control" half saddlebreds. HA! They don't do flat wide open trails at a slow
speed very well so glad my half-saddlebred was in good condition for this
ride. The gates you have to stop and open gives a nice break from all the good
going and trotting though. There are some steep climbs but not too bad
especially if you can get off and tail or lead down them on the last day.
The scenery is beautiful and each loop is really different. The people are
friendly and helpful. Great management with good food, well marked trails,
and nice awards. Happy Trails, Kathy Crothers from Ct. region
