Well, I'd clarify that a bit. The "Crabbet" horses per se were not
intensely inbred. Lady Wentworth did very little close linebreeding or
inbreeding. What was intensely inbred was the *Raffles segment of the
Skowronek line, after coming to America. Later, Edna Draper also inbred the
*Raseyn branch. The remainder of the Crabbet lines continue to be used in
England in a much less inbred fashion, and were likewise used here
extensively in such breeding programs as Kellogg's....
