Did anyone read "King of the Wind", the Godolphin Arabian, as a child?
I remember reading that the stallion was born with the crest (assumed to be a whorl) on his chest and it was the mark of evil and the colt was to be slain, however, the horse's groom pointed out a white spot on the back of a hind heel, considered to be a good sign, and thus the two marks canceled eachother out and the horse was spared.
At least, that's how I remember the story...Was that based on some kind of fact?
