Yup, I agree. At some lecture or 'nother (my brain is turning to mush) I
was talking about a lady who had imported a *very* expensive warmblood from
europe and was burying the poor thing in bucket after bucket of miracle
supplement and couldn't understand why it's health and performance was
deteriorating. I had asked her at the time why she didn't have the horse
out in the wonderful pasture available and her reason was that they charged
extra for turning the horse out. It eventually all got straightened out
just fine, but it's funny how (some)people will resort to promises from a
label and gee-whiz technology, instead of just relying on the basics first
of good riding, good forage, good water and good sense. Even experienced
horse people, as this lady was. Just human nature, I guess. Good
intentions going too far, in most cases.
