Yes, we did, because at least a few people (even on this list) have had
horses diagnosed with them.

I think you're reading way too much into what I wrote. I was for the most
part discussing genetics in general, and pointing out that the SYMPTOMS tend
to run in families.
Furthermore, you'd be surprised at the overall rate of horses "bred for
halter" that are present at rides--I break it down to "modern lines bred for
show" rather than specifically for halter, but in areas such as southern
California, it is often well over 3/4 of the entries.
