I have put them on for a client who has now done
one two day 50 CTR and one 50 mile endurance in them. They wear well and
seem to grip the pavement. This particular client is deathly afraid of
slipping, having been hurt several years ago in a fall on pavement. She
likes the shoes and we have gotten one resetting out of the fronts.
I couldn't put them on the back, as the OO were too
wide for her horse's narrow hind foot and could not be cut down enough to
fit. You need to have a special clincher to clinch them (I modified a
regular clincher) as the nails seat down so far into the crease. They are
easier to nail than some non steel shoes I have tried.
