I am curious if there is any correlation between a just great, long walk and
at least a foot overreach in a baby.....and how they will travel as adults.
I bought a 5 week old filly based on this long walk.....now, at age 3, I
just don't see it. The legs are still long! She is half Arab, 15.3. She
seems to have a very short stride at all gaits, and it certainly isn't lack
of exercise, as she has been regularly exercised on the trail since 6
months. The other half is Quarter horse, and this definately looks more
like WEstern pleasure type of movement, which would be a disappointment. Of
course, not ridden yet, so with riding and and shoes in a couple of years,
maybe things will change. But sure would appreciate comments, especially
toward picking out a baby, and how they move!
