Thursday night, my friend's Thoroughbred mare delivered twin fillies!!! I was there!! This mare had been ultra sounded twice and it never showed twins. The bigger filly weighed about 75 pounds and the little one, about 45 pounds. Both are healthy, although the little one is much weaker. However, as of today (Saturday), the little one is getting up and down on her own and nursing vigorously!! Looks like both will survive and prosper!! The sire is a Gainesway stallion named K-One-King. Amazingly, the mare carried these twins 11 months and 3 weeks! How totally incredible is that!!! :) :)
