RE: [RC] Canadian FEI ride - Bob Morris
Dear Myrna:
Under what set of rules will the riders be competing? The
AERC or FEI ? Will you be accepting entries from non-FEI
entries for the 100 mile ride?

Subject: [RC] Canadian FEI ride
Greetings,
I wanted to clarify a few things. I have received
permission from the
organizers of the Masters Series to change the length of the
ride to 100
miles (160k). So now it will be dual sanctioned since this
was the
original intent. Riders will now not only receive mileage
but points as
well for the FEI/AERC sanctioned ride. So there will not be
any non-AERC
sanctioned endurance rides at the Great Northern Connection.
This FEI ride
will be a Star *** ride now so a qualifier for two years for
international
competitions.
Also I only sanction with AERC because I get a lot of
American riders since
my ride is only 50 miles from the US border. So it has
always been done as
a service and incentive to Americans. We do have our own
governing body
for distance riding ( CaLDRA) in Canada which is recognized
by our National
Federation. I happen to be the president of this
organization.
I hope this clears up the controversy.
