Well I tried to email this person privately but it wasn't a valid email address according to my server.
Gee, maybe he was right. Maybe it is because I am a nurse and get threatened with violence and yelled at on a daily basis. All of us do. Some get injured. And we have to smile, and be professional when someone is walking around calling us names and threatening to meet us later in the parking lot. Maybe that is why there is a nursing shortage. It is an ugly job, and we try to help people. Last week someone came in with a terrible blood disease, and said, "you people have ruined my life!". His was the dad who has a history of grabbing nurses by the neck and threatened to put a bullet in a doctor's head. We told him, "no we didn't ruin your life, we are being paid by you to try to fix your problem of a disease that may ruin your life". We get sick of being hammered on all the time. Now some people are extremely nice, and wonderful and we grow to love them, we
cry when they get bad news or die. We buy them things, we go to their houses on our day off to help them with their gardens and we hug them when they come in well. Sorry if I am rude when I find out that someone thinks that blasting the ER staff is just a joke. People do that all the time and it just makes the staff cynical. Sorry if that is depressing.
