RE: [RC] Ulcer Research/USA Druggies? - Alison Farrin
I'll stand up with Mike on this one. How about these symptoms:
Beginning of year, mild colic for no apparent reason.
Year later, mild colice no apparent reason.
Watch horse like hawk. Notice that 20 minutes after feeding horse bites
flanks, walks in circles, starts to look slightly distressed. 20
minutes later, perfectly fine.
Repeat weekly if not daily.
Horse is conditioned routinely. Shows no signs of pain/discomfort, but
is not a good drinker and takes awhile (1/2 hour)to start eating well
after a hard workout.
This describes my Arab with an ulcer. If I hadn't noticed the odd
behavior right after feeding and mentioned it to my vet (hey, I was
thinking stones), horse would never have been diagnosed with an ulcer.
In his case $100 worth of Tagament did the trick.
