Re: [RC] Fire N Ice baby doing endurance - SandyDSA

Fire N Ice babies not being able to do
endurance.  I just began competing a Fire N Ice baby who just turned 7 and
I couldn't be happier with him.  He has great legs, nice feet, and a
wonderful personality to boot.  My guess is that he'll make a nice 100
miler because he just trots along all day and never wastes energy.  I guess
I will know for sure in a few more years.  Has done one 50 so far and I
will be going slow all year to give him a solid base but I'll keep you all

I don't think anyne said they COULDN'T do it - just that they have no remarkable history of doing so. Most of his notable get are in halter classes, and no endurance rider chooses to go look there for a prospect AS A GENERAL RULE. Not to say there are not exceptions, but when a horse has not shown a propensity for either DOING it or producing foals who DO IT, most riders won't weigh in highly on that stallion.

I would sure like to know who the dam is. I am a great believer in the contribution of the dam - nice to give the stallion cedit, but even as a stallion owner I can't do that. The Bedouins never failed to appreciate the value of their mares, and my guess would be that the dam is probably a very nice individual as well. I COULD BE WRONG:) - I was a few times>
