[RC] since we're discussing halter - RhndLev

I have an Arabian mare that I had shown at halter by an "unknown" trainer who
knew my feelings on having a sound, sane horse after being shown at halter.
I wanted to take a "performance" type Arabian (albeit an intensely pretty
one) out into the halter ring and show everyone what an Arabian is SUPPOSED
to look like. In other words, my mare actually meets those "breed standards"
that everyone ignores now, and she was trained to walk quietly on the lead --
gasp, horror. Anyway, she did relatively well, losing only to the big hairs,
and one of them even had the decency to come up to me afterward and apologize
and acknowledge I had the better horse (can you believe it???)

So, I bred her to a stallion I loved with a great disposition, but didn't get
the baby I expected. He's nice and my vet is bringing someone to see him as
a stallion prospect, but he's not as good as I think this mare or this
stallion can do. Should I try again with the same stallion? It was the
mare's first foal. Advice? Or please tell me about your favorite stallions,
privately if you want. I want excellent legs and feet, pretty, correct
conformation, excellent disposition and an elegant look. That's not too much
    to ask, right?

    Rhonda
