Taking pulse via steth..
okay okay I finally ordered my first stethescope....sooo heres the deal I have had bad attempts in the past of taking my horses heartbeat..I actually had a vet to tell me my horse was not alive..couldn't find a heart beat on that poor chick..mmm if my horse is still standing, breathing and all does this mean her heart rate is down????? Can anyone tell me some good tips on taking an acurate pulse with a steth??? are there some points that I can find a heartbeat with my fingers as well?? I usually relied on my crew but I would LOOOVE to be able to get this down..I have tried under the chest near the left front leg...actually heard it there once...
Carla (I shouldn't have cranked my stereo so loud!)
