convention speakers
Duane Barnett docduane@aol.com
Several have asked so I will tell you what I know.
Do not hold me to the schedule it is tenative.
Friday 9am- Dan Marks DVM
Topic will be conformation as it relates to soundness
and performance. Dr. Marks is a well respected equine
veterinarian with experience with several types of performance
horses. No he is not all that familiar with our sport but
anyone well versed in the horse world (like Dr. Marks) can teach us something. I met Dr. Marks at AAEP in December and his
talks at this veterinary meeting were some of the most popular.
You will enjoy his seminar.
Friday 4pm-Sharron Saare-topic will be backs and saddle fitting.
Back on the schedule by popular demand.
Saturday9am-Susan Garlinghouse-topic nutrition-again back
by popular demand
Saturday 1130am-Janine Esler-topic multi day rides
Saturday 3pm Veterinary Panel with Jamie Kerr, Kathy Eichelberger
Dane Frazier, Ray Randall and Tony Pavord(from England) Main
theme is "Endurance Scenarios-What should I do?" Topics addressed
include myoglobinuria, injured horse on the trail, Best Condition exam, mucous covered feces, and low or decreased gut
sounds. We hope to make this session very educational as well
as entertaining. Do not miss this one!
Please understand that their is a waiting list for people
who want to speak at the convention. Yes we can bring back
some by popular demand from time to time. We also need to get new faces, new topics
and fresh ideas. It is difficult to decide who to put on the
speaker schedule so please just come, listen and learn!!
                          Thanks,
                              Duane Barnett DVM
