The other part of the problem in eastern Massachusetts is the general lack 
of farriers, so the law of supply and demand kicks in.  A farrier around 
here can make a ton of money, but it comes out of his back.  My farrier is 
in his mid-twenties and he is already having back troubles, but he'll do 10+ 
horses in one day, 40+ in a week, so this kid makes somewhere around $4K-$5K 
week.
