Re: beet pulp question
Normally beet pulp does not contain additves meant for cattle. However, if
it does, it will be listed on the feed tag as either the generic substance,
ionophores, or by a brand name such as Rumensin or Monensin. Bad juju for
horses. Would be unlikely it would be added without it being prominently
identified as such, as ionophores aren't cheap.
However, fair warning, there have been instances when ruminant feeds
containing ionophores have been accidentally fed to horses. Forewarned is
forearmed.
