Re: truck campers

I know this is late, but I have been offline for a couple of weeks with the
computer in the shop...

IF you have a camper that hangs off the end of the truck, the ONLY hitch
that I was able to find that was rated for any kind of an extension is the
Reese Titan. You can go up to 36" on the extension kit, BUT there is a
chart that shows how much you decrease your towing capacity when you do
that. In my case, going with about a 24" extension, I was only rated to
pull 8,000 lbs, which, with a five horse trailer I was over. I then put on
a weight distributing hitch, which put me back up to 10,000 lbs. I have a
one ton dually dodge, with a 9.10" camper and an 18. ft. alumimum stock
trailer. But, the whole shebang, going down the road is VERY stable.
