Shoeing Woes

This barefoot thing is just to serious. So:

   Booties, steel or rubber?
   Horseowners have yet to discover,
   What meets the needs,
   Of all their steeds,
   Whose hoofies they must cover.

   They spend their hard earned money,
   And research each new discovery,
   To find that perfect fit,
   And say "Eureka!,
   This is it.

   But when the farrier is done,
   And the shoes are nailed or glued,
   The owners often moan,
   "This darned horse's shoes,
    Cost more than my own!"
