Some pasos will tort and most can do a gait similar to a foxtrot, I think
it's called a trocha in the paso world. Many pasos that do will in distance
will do both a trot and trocha from time to time.
I had neighbors who road pasos. I was riding this horse that thought that
her feet had to ball at the same rate as the horses she was with. Now she
was 16 hands and when we were riding with the pasos and hit a stretch of
trail that was hard enough to hear the footfall, she would just about lose
it. It took awhile but she finally understood.
