Petzl is one we like, primarily because the battery pack is located at the 
back of the head, which balances nicely with the lens and bulb device at the 
front.  The lights that have both at the front seem unbalanced and 
front-heavy.  We haven't used them for night RIDING, but for running or 
walking in the dark.  I suppose that if one wore the light over a helmet, it 
might be that the whole device being in front might not be such a problem.
