RE: Idiosyncracies
Several idiosyncracies of my herd:
Jordan, 15 yr.TB will not eat his hay unless he has a fresh barrel of water to dunk it in. He stands mid-way between the feeder and water barrel, grabs a bite of hay then swings over and dunks the hay underwater then begins chewing.
Flurry, the 6y. arabian gelding, can not pass a trash barrel without inspecting the contents and will stick his head completely inside.
Passion, arabian 6yr. mare, likes to have her gums massaged and will raise her upper lip for a massage when people are nearby.
Blaze, TWH 20yrs. old but recently deceased, refused to get into a horse trailer first but we'd have to drag him back if another horse was already in. He would also stand at the fence and flap his lips up and down making a smacking noise whenever we hauled feed.
Horse trailers can not be left open near by Jicara (4 yr. old Andalusian mare) she'll jump in and won't get out. She will let herself and any other horses out of their pens too, whenever she has a chance.
Mixer, a 1.5 yr. Mustang/Paint, comes running when you turn on a hose and turns her butt into the water to get wet.
Hobby, 7 yr. TB likes to splash other horses during water crossings, never tries to roll just splashes with all 4 legs.
