Duramax/Allison truck owners

Howdy ridecampers;

I'd appreciate hearing from owners of either Chevy or GMC 2000 or 
2001 trucks with the Duramax diesel and the Allison transmission.

Just want more towing performance on hills than I'm getting with the 
'95 Dodge diesel and its wimpy automatic.  And I'm not interested in 
getting a gear splitter or any other aftermarket gadgets at this 
point; this truck has been driven at least 30K miles a year (not 
gonna make a big investment in it now.)
