Heidi, for safety the hitch should be mounted just in front of the rear
axle. There are several brands that pop up or fold down. Even though I
have a pop-up type, I just leave it up all the time and it's no problem.
I have a shortbed and I got an amazing amount of stuff in the bed around
the gn this summer on xp2001 (5 bales of hay, 10 water and gas cans
plus!)
