Have not competed in dressage yet, but my instructor seems to think I will 
eventually, just because my mare has what it takes, and we are doing pretty 
well in lessons.  I'm not a big fan of showing because of all the bitchiness, 
but have gone to a few english/western pleasure type schooling shows just to 
get my mare used to crowds of horses.  I don't look on dressage as a show 
thing, I just consider it to be, as the word means, TRAINING.  I have taken 
lessons on my mare off and on since she could do 45 minutes under saddle.  
She seems to like both arena work and trail/endurance riding.  jeri
