That's simple, you don't have to soak beet pulp.  I don't and a few of my experienced friends don't either.  My vet told me that a long time ago.  Also, Bandit hates anything even damp, let alone soaked...

I know, I will hear about this one, but it is true.  Soaking is not necessary.....maryben
