ShortBed vs LongBed Truck for Goosneck
I have a Ford F350 Supercab with standard wheelbase
(141.8"). When we had our Fourstar Gooseneck constructed, one of the
options was to have the receiver tube moved 3 &1/2" forward so that it is
right up front. The nose is also tapered from the 8' body to 5' at the nose.
This allows the gooseneck to pivot a full 90' without hitting the truck. Most
trailer manufactures won't do these modifications so shop around, but we got a
good deal from Fourstar and have enjoyed the easier maneuverability of the
standard wheelbase with the convenience of the dog bed, er, supercab!
I would guess that a standard six foot wide
gooseneck on a 61/2' bed truck would hit the truck no matter how careful one
was.
Good luck in your search!
