Boy, that was a scary article! I'm going back to my original post of thinking this is a FAD of sorts and hope that this will past, in safety, for the horses.
I also have some horses that have never been shod, (they have flies too) but my endurance horses are shod and sometimes they will even have an Easyboot over shoes. With 250+ miles done in 5 days, there is no way a hoofs growth could keep up with the demand. Of course, it could be 250+ miles of sand...or other soft ground, but, I've worn the hoof walls thin doing 100's of miles in sand in a week. That's where Easyboots also help out.
