slow LD - Long Message
Hi Diane,
I have found people to be much more polite on the
trail in CTR. Trail etiquette is more important and more evident.
After all, you are being judged by the way you conduct yourself "on the
trail".
I have also found that most endurance participants
*are* courteous. It's the few rude hooligans that you are hearing about
here.
I'm
getting ready to ride my first LD's this year. I have
to tell you
these posts have scared me to death. I ride in
MN and have only
ridden Competitive, but I have yet to meet
a rider on the trail that
represents the rude riders you are
describing. I've had 50 & 100
milers pass me with the most
respect. They slow their horses down,
let me know they are
coming up on me. I firmly believe when I ride
the LD's that
I will do it at my own pace and the devil with the ones
that
want to race to win. Maybe that is the theory to slow
them
down. If we all forgot about winning and just ride our
own
ride wouldn't that work. Maybe a very simplistic
idea...but
some of the best are just that.
Diane & Phoenix, the
ultimate pasture
potatoe!!!
