I just checked the stats on the on-line calender for NASTR (thanks, Mike Maul!).
75 miles – 31 riders
50 miles – 40 riders
25 miles – 42 riders
Maybe because this year Swanton 75 and NASTR 75 are on the calendar before Tevis so it’s a good warm up for Tevis!
I also checked stats on 20 Mule Team:
100 miles – 55 riders
65 miles – 75 riders
35 miles – 66 riders
Looks like out West/PacSouth there is enough support for these oddball distances for the few of them available.
Looks like another “regional” thing, Truman. Like you having more LD riders.

That's interesting. In the first one in the SE there were only 3 riders out of
a total of about100 spread in the 25/50/75 and 100. The other 75's have also
meet with mixed success some with as low as 3 or 4 entries and some with higher
numbers, but from all the talk I have heard about a people wanting a 75, it
doesn't seem like the numbers that show up to do it are anywhere near the
numbers that say they want it.
One ride that did have a 75 last year is not doing so this year, probably
because the extra work wasn't supported by the number of riders, but that is on
a conjecture.
