Rae,
What kind of headaches? There are headaches that are caused by tight 
shoulder & neck muscles. Can usually be traced to sore spots at the base of 
the skull. This can be caused by the way you hold your neck & shoulders 
while riding, or tip your head due to helmet fit issues, holding your horse 
back at the start, or just plain nervous tension.
Have you had your eyes checked lately?  If you are used to doing a lot of up 
close work, looking to the distance while riding could be a strain. Sun 
glare is another possibility.
How about your blood pressure?
I'm sure others will think of more possiblities.
