GPS revisited

Hey guys,

I'm looking for input on GPS systems.  My fiance's birthday is coming up and his
mother agreed to help fund a big birthday gift (he's be hittin' the big 3-0) :)
I'd like to get him a GPS system.. he's a big techie and would love another
gadget to add to his collection.. now I've been researching a bit through the
archives and have pretty much decided on either a Garmen GPS III+ or a Garmen
etrex Summit.  Input on this?  What would you choose?  What are the advantages
of one over the other?  We're not HUGE trailblazers, but it would be nice to see
mileage, altitude, speed..
