Re: RC: Weak Loin

Take dressage lessons from a qualified instructor. It will improve the
horse's topline, and teach him to use himself better. Lessons will also
straighten the horse and rider. Chances are very good if the soreness is
mostly on one side that one of you is crooked. And, as others have said,
check your saddle fit. Again. Horses change shape with riding or layoffs,
you have to constantly monitor saddle fit. Just because it was custom fitted
to his back, doesn't mean it REALLY fits. Some saddlers are more skilled
than others. Some want to sell you their version of perfection, whether or
not it is the best saddle for your horse. If your horse was hard to fit,
maybe your last saddle was SO bad that the new one was a relief, but now that
he's gotten used to it, it hurts too. It's also possible for a saddle to
develop a spot on the underside that digs the horse due to a piece coming
loose or poor workmanship. Maybe it needs restuffing. Good luck. jeri
