Hi Folks: This document will close the Cool Trail to Auburn that travels
thru the old Auburn Dam Site.
I have OCRed this so there are a few misspellings.

The Draft ElS/EIR evaluates the direct, Indirect, and cumulative impacts of
the Proposed Protect upon water supply, fisheries, terrestrial
resources-including endangered species, water quality, recreation, visual
and cultural resources, power supply, land use, geology and soils,
transportation and circulation, air quality, noise, and public health and
worker safety.
Potential impacts of the Proposed Project that have been identified for
the 14 following resource issues: water supply allocations to some CVP and
SWP water service customers;
short-term elevated construction-related emissions of nitrogen oxides;
limited recreation trail access during project construction; permanent
closure of Auburn At Cool trail through Auburn Dam site; in- (5, increased
recreational parking demand at North Fork/Middle Fork American River
confluence. All other potential environmental impacts of the Proposed
Project would be mitigated to levels considered pr' less-than-significant
through adoption and implenamentation of an Environmental Protection and
Mitigation Measures Plan.
The Draft EIS/EIR will undergo a 60-day public re- W view period beginning
Friday, September 7, 2001 BE through Tuesday, November 6, 2001. During this
time, anyone wishing to provide written comments Cc on the EIS/EIR should

A public hearing to receive comment on the Draft
ElS/EIR is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.,
Thursday, October 11, 2001. The session will be held
at Placer County Water Agency, American River Recreation
Room, 144 Person Road, Auburn, CA 95604.
The Draft ElS/EIR and related materials are available for review at PCWA
