short tendon

Cheri rrrutopia@aol.com
I had the Vet out today to look at my almost 4 month old filly. She is
growing quite rapidly and over that last 4 weeks I noticed both rear legs
but especially her right rear change shape. It looks like the large
tendon in the back is crooked. The vet believes that the tendon is placed
properly but he feels that her bones are growing too fast and the inside
flexor/suspencery tendon is too short or not stretched out enough, and
thus causing the pastern and hoof to rotate out 20 degrees.
My vet had a wait 3 months and see type of attitude. I was wondering if
any one had any suggestions. Currently she isn't lame and it doesn't seem
to bother her at all.
All advice is welcomed.
Thanks, CHERI
