western hat/helmet

I have a friend that does reining competitions.  She does not wear a helmet
(or at any time when she rides).  She recently had a spill and commented
that she was thankful she didn't injure her head.  I asked if she ever
considered a helmet.  She said she can't wear one while competing- she has
to wear a western hat.

Another friend, who's currently out of town, said she has seen a
helmet/western hat combo.  Anybody heard of this and know where to get one?
