OT: Terrorist Attacks
There's going to be a lot of talk about the desire for revenge. While I am
not going to say anything against dealing quickly and firmly with the people
respoonsible for this attack, I am going to point out that fanning the
flames of world war are just a bigger (much bigger!) version of flaming on
email lists.
It's easy to get out of control. It's hard to stay in control when loved
ones and friends might be dying or in danger. Losing control any time - at
the start of an endurance ride or in reaction to this morning's events -
means just what it says. No control.
I think this is a very important time to be in control. I personally don't
relish the though of being a victim. Victims are people who have no
control. In short, we all need to take deep breaths, settle down more
firmly in the saddle, relax our muscles, flush the adrenaline from our
systems and take control, not lose it.
