Howard, when I brought my colt home, I had to keep him separated from the
main boss of the herd, my old gelding.  I put my 2 yr old out with each of
the other geldings and my mare-one at a time.  They all accepted him fairly
well.  Some squabbling but nothing horrible or mean.  It took the old guy
over a month before he accepted the 2 yr old.  Now they all run together and
my old guy is the horse I use when I pony the young one.  Go figure.  Jeanie
