Finally trying to catch up with email, and already replied to Kathy, but
this is worth answering publicly as well---no, don't feed used vegetable
oil. Heat oxidizes fats fairly rapidly, and that in turn creates peroxides
and free radicals, which in turn have an oxidizing effect in the body. At
the very least, free radicals and such use up whatever antioxidants are
available in the body (vitamin e, glutathione, etc) and essentially have an
aging effect on tissues. Short of it, only feed fresh, good quality oil and
don't expose it to heat, light or air any more than necessary and try to
keep it in a dark, cool place if available.
