Tracy,
We live in
a pretty sandy area (decomposed granite) so it’s highly recommended around here
to feed the horses psyllium.  Some
people recommend feeding once a week and others recommend feeding for a week
once a month.  We do the latter –
my thought is that the one day may not be enough to accomplish getting the sand
to pass.

We are
dong this only on a preventative basis – haven’t had any problems with sand
colic, but don’t want to either.

I have a
friend that needs to start feeding her horse psyllium.  What are your
recommendations and thoughts?  Thanks!
