It would be interesting to know how much of that leaping about was due to
natural high spirits and energy level and how much was due to being "amped
up" by the handler or owner beforehand.  I've seen horses that showed
brilliantly for BC, but knew they were just as tired as any other horse.
It's a lot in the way of "showing" that horse, what you can get the judges
to see and therefore, believe.
