Sidepulls/Crosspulls

I am wondering from all of you out there what sidepulls or crosspulls are 
the best to have. I am using a rope halter/sidepull combo now made by Pat 
Frederickson. I like it, but it doesn't seem to fit good enough to do the 
job. The knots move around too much when I pull back on the reins, and it 
see-saws on his nose sometimes when I am turning him. But I like the idea of 
these because my horse eats and drinks much more freely without a bit. Plus 
it's nice not to have to monkey around with one at the vet checks. What 
other sidepulls or crosspulls are out there? And between the two, which do 
you all prefer?
