Injury;curb in hock

We have a horse who has been diagnosed as having a curb in her hock from
climbing hills. What can you tell me about this type of injury? She is not
lame at this time. We are cold hosing frequently and exercising at a walk
only. It appears to be the same after a week. Any suggestions?
