Tevis pronunciation

I know, this is a nit when it comes to endurance related topics, but it's
really bugging me.  Hopefully someone can just email me and it won't clog
up Ridecamp.

How on EARTH is Tevis pronounced?!

Is it Teevis, a long 'e' sound as in iced tea?

Or is it Tevis, a short 'e' sound as in bet?
