Respectfully disagree having heard stories that Remington Steele was shown at halter shortly after his Tevis completion and not only was a real crowd pleaser but ribboned as well. I have shown in halter and didn't do as well when the horse was fat (I was coming off of maternity leave) compared to when she was conditioned for riding, although not as conditioned as she was in NATRC/endurance condition. Also a lot of Arabian halter/show barns have their halter horses on the hot walker for up to an hour a day, or on a treadmill, they pony them, swim them, sweat them, and lounge them. For some reason they have a belief that riding halter horses ruins the appearance of their back, which is a very strange idea if you ask me, but they do indeed work those horses. Beth
