New horse/Gelding/stallion questions

Hi everyone, well, found my new horse, a five year old,
Polish (56%) Russian (26%) and CMK (18%) approximately,
gelding. He was just gelded 2 months ago and has been bred
at least twice, as he has two offspring from breeding last
year. He was born and raised on 100 acres with minimal
people contact. After being weaned he was put on another
100 acres with a bachelor band of about 8 geldings and
stallions and numerous cows. He was only messed with by
people for halter breaking, the occasional foot trim (maybe
once per year) some hay/grain supplementation in the winter
months, and of course trailering off to be bred as well as
being gelded. So it's ALMOST like I've gotten a wild horse.
He is awesome so far though, just wondering how long it
takes to get that testosterone out of the system? I am
hearing 2 months to a year. The people that say 2 months
seem to also say that some of the stallion behavior is
learned and that is what takes up to a year to get rid of.
He will strike at Donte if they get too close (they are
separated by a fence but can sniff over the top) and he is
not too keen on having me mess with his back legs. Won't
pick them up. So right now, I am just working on being
around his rear end by brushing, scratching, etc. back
there. He is getting better every day and I've only had him
for one week.
