Barefoot Endurance Horses

I'm curious what angle (toe) a hoof trimmed like this has. Have any horses
shown signs of wearing off their hooves faster than they grow out? I keep my
horses barefoot except when I compete - I tried Easyboots on 2 of them
(father and son) but the front of the hoof under the buckle bruised, so I
went back to shoes. I would like to try this when I have a chance (some rides
here require shoes). I turn out 24/7 but have only a small area with soft
sandy soil. Would changing the footing help (adding some rocky areas, etc.)?
I have been checking out the different barefoot websites but don't see any
mention of trimming differently for a horse that doesn't land flat because it
toes out, etc. Any suggestions appreciated.
