While testing this mixture, I did rinse my horse off every day due 
to the heat wave we were having, but must admit it didn't "dawn" on 
me that the accumulation could burn her skin.

can't even imagine it-  I groom dogs and use dawn on oily or stinky coats,
but make sure it is completely rinsed and NEVER gets anywhere near eyes
(this stuff will erode your corneas-I am serious)  I would stay away from
dawn or any detergent in any situation where you are not rinsing thoroughly.

Laura - who's arms and hands get chaffed bad on the days I use alot 
of dawn.>
